Munson’s Prime names Michele Carlyon as General Manager

Michele Carlyon brings years of steak house experience to The Prime.


Junction City, Kansas, March 2015-Munson’s Prime announces new management role for Michele Carlyon. Michele is a graduate of JCHS and KSU. She joined Munson’s Prime towards the end of 2014. Today, she will be in charge of all the day to day decision making as a General Manager. Additionally, Michele will be working closely with our team to develop marketing strategies, menu options, and attract new business.

Michele Carlyon will help strengthen our business with her hospitality and restaurant experience. She has proven herself as a valued employee within the steakhouse segment. We believe her move to General Manager will provide continuity with staff members, expand her responsibility, and increase customer awareness of our new endeavor.

Michele Carlyon’s prior experience with Longhorn Steakhouse included many leadership positions Service Manager, Kitchen Manager, Staffing and Training Manager, Bar Manager and General Manager. We feel her experience working for a national chain will focus Munson’s Prime in a competitive direction, aid in menu development, provide a fine dining experience to all our guests, and help the Munson’s showcase their beef by furthering the pasture to plate concept.

Our Angus cow/calf herd, a breed of cattle known for their meat marbling qualities, originated west of Junction City, Kansas in 1924. Since then, Munson Premium Angus Beef was sold at the legendary Kansas City Stock Yards and more recently to Tyson, formerly Iowa Beef Processing (IBP), in Emporia, Kansas as fed out live animals. Our herd is grass fed and grain (corn) finished by fifth generation ranchers. In 2007, our fifth generation family operated farm and ranch expanded by opening Munson Premium Angus Beef, LLC, a local meat retail store, open to the public. We raise, feed out, and locally process our animals and sell packaged cuts. In 2014, Munsons Prime, LLC opened, a restaurant located in Junction City.
Munson Premium Angus Beef, LLC. and Munson’s Prime are now under the same roof serving customers high quality black angus beef while promoting the pasture to plate concept of conception to consumption.
